Banner Time

Ha ha - do you get the pun...if not try singing it...Banner time (sounds like Hammer Time by M.C. Hammer??) o.k. never mind. anyway, tis the season to start creating some lovely banners for well, Mother's Day and Memorial Day, 4th of July and hey maybe even for Dad's day...but first I want to start with MOM - because she is the most important in the world, right? {wink wink}

I bought some small chipboard banner shaped triangles awhile back and had covered them with some fun papers also awhile ago and just pulled them out yesterday and just added these fun letters using my new SLICE machine by Making Memories...Will share that new baby later in the week.

But here's my finished banner - I'm liking it. Whatch'a think?

Aren't the colors different and fun.

I think its o.k. to use patterned paper as long as you use solid colored letters to offset the background colors.

See how pretty they look up close!

Burlap dec

So I'm feeling the L💚VE bug right now and have been making some fun Vaelntine's Day goodies.

Look how cute and fun - burlap is an awesome material to make so many cute items. If you like the rustic and shabby look then this would be an ideal fabric to work with. I know these pillows are crude, with some jagged edges but I love it.

This pillow didn't come out exactly as I was hoping for. My machine was acting up. So instead of a nice sewn line around the letters I got this icky mess...from afar it looks o.k. and besides again it goes with my rustic crude charm!

I have a fun video to share with you later this week. Of some easy to make mini banners.

Happy Crafting.

sewing again - day 39

Oh my Goodness - I cant explain these crazy spurts I get but I occasionally get a hankering for sewing up something - anything...and something easy, take for instance garlands...Talk about quick..

Take some felt or fabric cut out your shape and sew through all the piece to create a quick and easy garland.

triangles turned simple garland and if you take "SAID" shapes and sew down the middle - you get a totally different type of banner...check it out

then you could add the super easy, quickly sewn and super cute banners to a vignette like this

Neat right???

I just love these easy projects.

LOVEly pom pom Garland

Day 14 of my make it challenge ---- I gotta tell you I have LOVE, hearts and the colors red & pink just taking over my brain right now...Tonight I made another banner garland out of yarn I had here at home. I decided to make a POM POM GARLAND

Super cute and oh so easy. No tools needed other than my fingers & a pair of scissors.

I wanted to add a little something in the middle to make it pop and made this silly tassel - not sure I am liking the look - so I'll leave it up and think on it for a bit.

I have another garland to share with you tomorrow - I know I am obsessed...or I could just say I am OCD and need the repetition of it all. Regardless, I love banners/garlands.
I am listing these tomorrow in my etsy shop...in case you don't want to make it yourself.
