Love is the air

I just finshed the cutest little album made out of chipboard hearts. Used some fun papers and embellishments and well take a look for yourself

Here is the cover  - something about red just makes me happy!!!

That blue, red & pink is just too cute together

The picture will be the main focus

Just the perfect embellishments

Love it

Aren't those colors the end?

This would be great holding your kids photos or that of your sweet honey pie... It all works in here!!

Have fun today wether your watching the SuperBowl or spending your day crafting!!! I'll be doing both!

Crocheting Hearts - day 40

Boy - talk about attention issues...I tell you when it comes to crafting I am all over the place. Yesterday I was sewing and today I am crocheting....I have secretly always loved crocheting but can really only do basic stitches and cant read patterns so I never really try to advance my skills in crochet, but recently I saw some super cute crochet hearts on some blogs and well I tried my hands at several different patterns and couldn't get it to work out -

see what I mean...icky

one of the better ones but no two are ever the same or perfect or close to decent. Its a hit or miss.

So what's a girl to do? She looks on YOUTUBE of course!!!

I found the easiest and truthfully quite addicting way of crocheting the cutest and sweetest little hearts...Like they are super quick and super gratifying and ADDICTING - didn't I already say that {heehee}

But look at the difference...

Aren't they the cutest things ever and look I have made them in every color.
Red, white, bright pink and turquoise.

Don't the red & turquoise hearts look amazing together.

And don't they look great as a garland...I made a bunch - see told yeah-can't stop making them...I'm linking this up to the challenges above.

Here's wishing you a wonderful Thursday. Happy Valentine's Day

sewing again - day 39

Oh my Goodness - I cant explain these crazy spurts I get but I occasionally get a hankering for sewing up something - anything...and something easy, take for instance garlands...Talk about quick..

Take some felt or fabric cut out your shape and sew through all the piece to create a quick and easy garland.

triangles turned simple garland and if you take "SAID" shapes and sew down the middle - you get a totally different type of banner...check it out

then you could add the super easy, quickly sewn and super cute banners to a vignette like this

Neat right???

I just love these easy projects.

Sweet card - day 19

What a fun weekend. Glad we have one more day to play and the best part is the hubs gets the day off too. Makes it more fun and less stressful.
So I really want to expand my range in card making. I can make cards but I am not much of layering type of girl. I have a cricut, I have a sizzix and lots of dies, lots of punches and I hardly ever use them on my cards - what the heck is wrong with me.
Along with making an effort towards the people that matter in my life I plan on making a bigger effort in my cards - afterall, they are going to very important people. Here is a card I made and that there house is handmade by me out of chipboard.

The paper is from a Christmas stack and those flowers are red and turquoise - the color looks almost deep blue but its lighter. I used paint on the house and added a small paper heart.

I am linking this card up to the following challenges:

Have a fabulous week, happy crafting and if you have a day off tomorrow for MARTIN LUTHER KING day then enjoy yourself.

FInished Masterpiece - day 16

NOT...
ever have an idea of what something will look like in your head and when you finally finish you take another look at your Masterpiece art project and well it's not quite what you had envisioned! Dang it, but at least I tried.

My intention was to embroider these hearts with the blanket stitch. So here's the problem. I can do the blanket stitch when holding the piece in my hands but when I am trying to attach it to something - can't make it work. Weird right???

The hearts were individually blanket stitched then adhered glued on (I know- that's bad) and I didn't even add the blanket stitch to the smaller hearts.

then I practiced the daisy stitch and well that didn't come out like I wanted it too. Strangest thing is I have done embroidery before but it seems to have floated out of my memory bank like the wind---POOF!!!

and finally because I tried to do a fancy stitch below the hearts and well didn't come out right so I took it out but the holes couldn't be hidden. SO I added a ribbon - not sure it works but it serves a purpose. Then I added that little bird button...It matches at least!!!

Anyway, I guess it's time to practice my embroidery stitches...

Hope you are having more luck with your projects.

I am linking this up to the parties above. Happy Crafting and Happy Friday ya'll

needle & thread

I consider myself a VERY crafty person. But like every good super crafty hero I do have a nemesis and that is: needle & thread crafting. You know sewing, pattern reading, crochet, knitting and embroidery. I try and for the most part I can make "something" but it doesn't resemble the piece I was TRYING to make. I can sew straight lines on a sewing machine but my goal is to make a top or t-shirt for myself. But for now I will stick with my pillows and aprons...another thing on my to do list is to make a SAMPLER - which consists of fun embroidered art patches...but in the mean time here are some of the things I have been playing with

I know this is WAY TO SIMPLE but yet it is still not perfect.

I even made an ANTI-VALENTINE heart - would you dare wear that out in public? I don't think I could...besides for me LOVE absolutely doesn't suck - I love being in LOVE!!!

Since it is so easy I thought I would share the tutorial for it of
 which is super self-explanatory...

cut out 2 heart shapes out of felt
on the top heart "embroider" with needle & thread a letter or a saying and just do the basic back stitch
 (see how on you tube)
when you are done with the top -  blanket stitch the edges - leaving a small opening to stuff with poly-fil. then close up
add a pin back or barrette clip to put on and wear.

super simple and these would make a fun gift to give to your pals --- just attach them to a fun embellished tag and you got a cool handmade gift.

So many fun blogs sharing lots of cool Valentines Day crafts: sharing my hearts with the following parties:

feeling the LOVE

I have got the LOVE bug lately. Everything I make seems to be red, pink or Valentine-y!
take for instance this card...

Just something I threw together. I was making a paper bag album & a banner with these papers and decided they needed to be used as a card too.
I am thinking that perhaps this may be the card I give to my sweet beloved hubster...

Luckily for me this works for the following challenges:

bunny zoe crafts - anything goes
cheery lynn designs - sweethearts
created with love - anything goes
make it Monday - anything goes
stamp & create - Love
tammy's scrapin corner - red & hearts
victorine originals - valentines- red, white & pink

Happy LOVE prep...
