for the love of Burlap

I have total love for Burlap - and if you have ever touched the stuff there is really alot not to like about it. It sheds when you cut into it and its rough to the touch but the colors it comes in are dreamy and I am extremely fond of making banners out of them - and truthfully not much touching going on with banners - just take them out and string them up...

Here are few I just made and listed in the shop and I took these photos with some of my sweet holiday gnomes.

aren't these banners fun and look how great they look with my Gnomes.

Burlap LOVE #1342

I can't be sure that I have created that many burlap projects but I do know how much I love the stuff and try and use it ALOT! Wednesday I got busy and finished off 4 burlap pennant banners that came out lovely, if I do say so myself. 

In the past I have painted on my burlap. It's a tedious process but allows me the customization I desire. But recently I discovered the amazing new pre-printed burlaps! Oh wow - last year they had a few choices this year the choices have doubled....oh my but so have the price$ thank goodness for the weekly 40% off coupons! 

These banners were made using all the newest printed burlaps. Look how cool-

Pennant LOVE-day 29

You know me and my love for burlap. Well if you didn't then you will - because I have a few projects to share here on the old blog - and because I have Valentines on the brain -

they are all pink, pretty & LOVEly...

 

 

You cant really get any easier then this - cut, stamp & sew

What? yup - that easy!

 

 

These look great on your mantel - over a picture frame or anywhere you want to add a little sweet sass too.

NEW Burlap Banners

I am so ready for the FALL. I love everything about the AUTUMN season. The cool weather, the darker nights, the fireplace ablaze and the jackets and blankets that get used more. I long for the start of FALL. However, if you live here in SoCal, you know that we get hot - hot and I mean 90' hot days up until October 31st. Sure we get some cool days but for the most part its still summer throughout September and October. That what Southern California is known for, right??? ughhhh

Anyway, I am slowly getting out my fall decorations and figured I better make some new banners. I wasn't feeling last years so I went thru my stash of fabrics and found some left over pieces of burlap and well since burlap is AWESOME - I thought I would come up with an easy banner to share with you.

 

I cut 5 rectangles out of the burlap and then cut a triangle out of each.

 

then I grabbed some large foam stamps ( I find that foam stamps are the easiest to use)

used some ink or paint will do...and stamped out my saying

 

Here is another fun one made using the same technique - and again all you need is scraps of burlap.

 

Cute right - and you could make them up for friends and family and best part is that they are QUICK>>>
