Easter Bags

Last year I wasn’t home Easter week and had my husband help my kids decorate Easter eggs. They sent pictures during and after the decorating process, all of which I hated missing. On Easter morning they informed that we didn’t need to do an egg hunt because they were to old for that. I asked them what about the beautiful eggs they decorated and they said they only did it for me.

WAIT WHAT? What’s happening? Are they growing up?
Easter 2017

This year since we will be out of town for Easter - I again mentioned that I was sad about no baskets and they told me that it’s no big deal - all we get is candy anyway so just give it to us in our hands -

For the record - they dont only get candy- they get gift cards and money and something cute plus lots of candy

Anyway because I’m a mom and a crafty chick I decided to make them Easter gift bags  to give to them on Easter morning and I thought maybe you could use the idea for those to old to get Easter Baskets

Here’s what you need
Bags (mine are from @daiso) glue stick and scraps of paper

Cut strips and add to the front of the bags with adhesive

Add a cute little chipboard sticker to the front

Then use stickers to spell out the kids names

Here are some of the things I’m putting inside (not shown is the iTunes gift card)

And here they all are ready to pack - cute right??

By the way - to keep things real here - the idea was on point! However, there was NO room for them in any of our luggage... wah wah wah—-dang it - so I had to give it to them today before we left for the airport - they loved it - I think truthfully they want baskets but THINK they are too old...but this mama will continue to make them something - until forever...

Hope you like the idea and if you use it send me a pic..

Happy Good Friday folks -

for the love of Burlap

I have total love for Burlap - and if you have ever touched the stuff there is really alot not to like about it. It sheds when you cut into it and its rough to the touch but the colors it comes in are dreamy and I am extremely fond of making banners out of them - and truthfully not much touching going on with banners - just take them out and string them up...

Here are few I just made and listed in the shop and I took these photos with some of my sweet holiday gnomes.

aren't these banners fun and look how great they look with my Gnomes.

Check out my instagram feed for a video I shared of my mantel decorated with all the Fourth of July goodies I have made and yes they are for sale in my shop.

Hope your week has been a crafty one.

Faith

**This is a religious post - I hope not to offend anyone!**

I grew up in a catholic family. I went to church every Sunday with my parents and went to Sunday School after words and my mom was the teacher. We did alot at our church it was a regular thing. It's all I knew.
I went to catholic school for my entire education 12 years. Grew up with all the religious expectations that are bestowed upon us through Catholicism. It was my life.
But once I grew up and moved out of the house. I didn't "HAVE" to go anymore. It was my choice.
In my 20's it didn't really fit in. I had a son at 21 and he was less then well behaved. So, I never wanted to inconvenience those that wanted to be at church. So I stopped going.

I would always go when my mom made a special request for my family to attend. Mother's Day, Easter and Christmas. I went for her.

Over the years I have always thought about going back but again it doesn't seem to fit in. We have 4 kids and something seems to be going on ALL the time. Excuses I know but its all I got.

Now a days, it's split. My husband will go with me if I ask. My oldest daughter wants to go, my middle daughter has no desire to go and my youngest son is not interested either way, or he will go if he can bring his phone and his earphones and watch videos during mass...that's not happening. So you see - split....

Lately, I have been feeling a pull towards my Faith again. I recently bought a journaling bible and have started to read the bible again. It feels weird. Like I am doing something that doesn't feel natural. I just think it is something I have to ease back into.

I am a paper crafter as I am sure you are aware of (if you read this here ol'blog of mine)
I recently bought this awesome paper kit by @IllustratedFaith and it is amazing. The graphics and the designs are so cheerful and colorful and the images are all faith based and it rang something inside me and got me excited -

i created these 2 Bible bookmarks using the papers and embellishments

See aren't they super cute?

wouldn't be bad to look at while reading in your bible right?

I am going to be listing these in the shop tonight.

Here's to my Faith and finding my way back..

Thanks for stopping by.

Quick Holiday Craft

I am all about the quick craft and even more so when the whole project costs under 15.00 then I just had to share the how, what and when with ya'll.

Pick up your supplies at the your local Target and heres what you'll need

The round wreath shaped wooden items are from the dollar spot at Target - 3.00 each - pom poms bags are also from the dollar spot and they are 1.00 each - - you could also use any you had on hand - the thick red ribbon was something I had and the red tassels are also 1.00 from Target...and of course you dont have to use what I used but this is how I made it.

First step is to find the middle and attach your ribbon (this will be the part you will use to hang the wreath from)

Looking back I think I would have spray painted the wreath prior to attaching the pom poms or maybe painted the edges with some acrylic paint - because since I didn't add the pom poms to the edge you can see some of the wood - luckily its hanging from our front doors and you can't see the edges too well so I am ok with it as is.

Once you are done adding the pom poms - then you can decorate it as you like. This can also cut down the cost if you use things you have on hand...

I bought some cute little snowflakes from Joanne for 40% off and painted them in turquoise then added them to the front of the wreath

Here is another look at the steps and the finished wreath.

On my doors

and Up Close - cute and Kitschy right>>>

I made the snowman, I had the tree and the deers and so all in total I spent 13.00 for the items needed to create both of these wreaths!!!

And just like that another quick craft at a low cost is down in the books.

Enjoy and hope you are creating awesome holiday crafts!!!

Quick craft-making tags

Now when I say quick craft I mean fairly quick. Once you start making these you'll make them for every occasion. The coolest part of these tags are that you can make them using the things you have on hand such as acrylic or wooden stamps and ink pads and tags that you can either die cut or buy from me - in my shop (wink wink)

As you can see by the photo - seriously I only used basic supplies - but I mean how cool are these tags. Can you imagine all the possibilities???

The best part about these tags is that they are so versatile and can be used, depending on the occasion, for gift tags to add to your gift bags (in place of a card) they can be added to a bottle of wine for a hostess gift and they can be used as place cards for your Thanksgiving table or any other special table setting.

Hope you try it out and if you do please share them on Instagram and tag me so I can check them out.

Happy Crafting!

Just happened

I have been thinking about doing this for years, I have been wanting to make the leap for years but then something always happened - or it just became unimportant. Well tonight I did it. Me, Tina, I put together a website and I have to tell you I think I am in LOVE  and can't understand what I was so afraid of. I used go daddy and it was super easy, only took me 3 -4 hours total...I'm sure things would come easier for most others, with some computer expertise of course :-)

anyway here is a screen shot of my HOME page

and here is the address

ONECRAFTYMESS.COM

can it get any better then that!!!!

I hope you take a minute to stop by and check it out.

pretty please.
