Pastries anyone?

I recently participated in the Claremont Pie Festival and while it was SOOOO hot outside - the whole concept was fun.
Because I didn't have to many PIE type of stuff, I thought I would paint up some signs.
Super basic 12 x 12 in size and just used some ply wood.
Here is the first sign I made.

Then I made a Blueberry pie sign...Love the colors on this

I then made these other 2 signs....which I dig - best part of them are that they all use the same basic pie template but I just changed them up a bit according to the sign itself.

Here's the cupcake sign purchased by our neighbor at the Pie Festival...they make felt cupcake pincushions. She loved it.

I'll be listing these in my etsy shop soon.

Have a crafty weekend.

Curb side Change up

Sometimes I find something on the side of the road that I pick up that I think I can do "something" with. Take this curb side find I recently found which the owner told me was a "winerack display" in grocery stores. Cool right?

I started painting before I took a good "BEFORE" pic but here is what it looked like it was a plain wood piece with the shutters and not real clear but there are metal sides which could hold a shelf or something like that.

I had my husband add those picket fence post to the front to cover the base so that it could work as my bagging & money station. Gotta tell you that I love the way it turned out. Here it is in my both a 2 weeks ago.

Here is an up close photo
I also had my husband add some chicken wire to the shutters so that they could work as a place to hand things from.

Here is my booth set up at the @Gypsysroadshow this past weekend.
Aren't those wings pretty awesome - I think I may need to make more and sell them...I had a lot of people asking about them. But they are meant as BOOTH DECORATION!

I think I finally have found my true BOOTH set up.

I will be linking this up to the parties above:

When you can't

I consider myself a very crafty person! I mean I have tried most crafts and can do some better then others! One thing I have always loved and admired are those that can create beautiful gifts and decor by hand embroidering. I have bought tons of  DMC floss and have several books on embroidery stitches, like real easy to read and understand. Or so I thought....needless to say - I can't do it! As much as I have tried I just can't do it!

But being a crafty chik - I came up with another way to use those fun embroidery hoops and resemble the look of hand work....

How cute are these? Just used my 2nd favorite medium PAINT. I used stencils both purchased and some I cut out myself. Below you can see the Crafty Mess I was in painting these hoops.

I am taking these hoops with me to the #gypsyroadshow this weekend. Maybe you can come by and check them out if your in the neighborhood. It'll be at Victoria Gardens Cultural center. 10-4 and will be packed with amazing crafters selling the most awesome goodies.

Anyway, just a crafter finding her way around something she is not good at and turning into something really cool!

Happy crafting - I will be sharing at the parties posted above.

Farm Fresh

I am anxiously preparing for my first Spring show of the season. Which will take place on Saturday March 14th, at the Claremont Pie Festival. Hence the Farm Fresh mini scrapbook/recipe keeper.
I used chipboard and this awesome new paper by Studio Calico.

It's called South of the market and has lots of cool graphic images that work perfectly in this cool mini recipe album.

I love all the fun embellishments in this kit. They are so happy and so country and well I used lots in this album.

I mean look at those cute wooden animals. I mean could you die???

I played around with the photo mats and the accents---using different colors and not so matchy matchy pages...LOve LOVE LOVE it -

I added those fun strawberry recipe cards so people could add their own family favorites in there.

I could go on and on and on about this album - I am super proud of it.

The papers are amazing - great job studio calico and one more pat on the back for MOI'
