Making cards

I have been busy making scrapbooks and had a bunch of fun scraps of paper from the new Dear Lizzy collection and decided to play around with them and created a few new cards, here's the first card I made using the papers and some fun little 3-d embellishments for the 2.00 bin at michael's

I think I am in love. You know what I like best is that it's mismatched and the patterns are all over the place (it's a first for me) I usually try and coordinate everything, but I think that pop of black really brings it all together! I dig it!

Homemade Embellishments

Since I'm a scrapbooker and card maker I sometimes need embellishments to match my cards and layouts so I use my stamps or punches to make some fun flags or embellishments.

I wanted to share how I made some cool ticket embellishments with my stamps - these are from stamping up! And it's meant to be stamped on as 1 unit, it's a Valentine stamp with sweet words all over it, would be cute on its own but I decided to

Cut it up and use each line on its own.

Not only do I get more stamps but I also get to personalize things with just the words I want to use.
See now how cute these tickets are?

You can use the inside of the tickets for to stamp anything you want on them. Make them for any holiday. Here is another set of stamps I used I the same way..

See how awesome!!!! Anyway they look great on your pages or cards or add them individually to tags and attach them to gifts...the possibilities are endless😊

Happy crafting

Lets make some banners

I want to share a video I made to give you some ideas on creating quick and easy mini banners with things you have around the house, I presume you are living in a crafty house {wink wink}

O.k. in case you want to know specifics before hand so you can be prepared, some items you can use to make these cool banners are felt, paper that has been punched with paper punches, in this case I used a heart punch and of course your sewing machine....

later I'll show you where I placed my banners around my house and some other quick decorating ideas.

Burlap dec

So I'm feeling the L💚VE bug right now and have been making some fun Vaelntine's Day goodies.

Look how cute and fun - burlap is an awesome material to make so many cute items. If you like the rustic and shabby look then this would be an ideal fabric to work with. I know these pillows are crude, with some jagged edges but I love it.

This pillow didn't come out exactly as I was hoping for. My machine was acting up. So instead of a nice sewn line around the letters I got this icky mess...from afar it looks o.k. and besides again it goes with my rustic crude charm!

I have a fun video to share with you later this week. Of some easy to make mini banners.

Happy Crafting.

Getting scrappy with Tim Holtz

Trying to stay on track this year and keeping up to date on my scrapbooking. I was able to make a few pages to add to my Etsy store and then I got one done of a very important day for me.

So most people don't get my excitement but in the paper crafting field there are some super stars and well Tim Holtz and Mario are 2 of them. So I have been a fan of theirs and keep up with Tim's blog and Mario on Facebook - weird? I think more true FAN :-) Anyway, awhile back I won a giveaway Tim did and was over joyed to connect with Mario to get my prize and was in awe back then.

So if anyone who loves Tim and his products knows that he travels a lot and teaches all over and I have never been lucky enough to participate in those cool classes. So every year Tim goes to the Carson Stamp Show and everyone who follows him knows this (don't think I am a crazy stalker - wink) anyway its about an hour from my house to the Carson Show and after convincing talking my hubby into driving me down there we made it and I stood in back and watched "him" Tim that is...and he knew his stuff...I mean I expected no less but it was pretty cool...then I bought some stuff because well Mario was manning the register and sheeplishly asked for a photo - I actually think I mumbled something in pure excitement and he honored me with a photo.

Here is the scrapbook page I created of the "Best Day Ever"

Boy I was so star struck!!!

Here are some photos that I took but didn't make into my page...

He was the master at everything Tim! uh duh!!!!

That lady in the bun was in that front row spot for a good 2 hours...wouldn't budge

I mean really - that's me beaming with him in the background...its as close as I could get to him...
No really I am just a huge fan not a STALKER!!! promise...

Ok - so in honor of kicking the year of scrapbooking off to a good start here are the pages I just listed in my ETSY shop...

for the sweet pup in your life!

Happy New Year

Not sure its such a great idea to shut down for the entire month but sometimes I think it's just necessary to do. It's good for the soul. ---- Soul searching outcome:

I have been busy making, hosting, selling and just being alive and doing with my kids. I can honestly say that I have been present in our lives this entire month. It's quite the accomplishment, if you ask me. I usually get all caught up with holiday happenings, I go nuts and a little buying crazy (not this year), I most always over extend myself and accept to many holiday parties, and I usually commit to too many activities with my kids over the school winter break. But not this year.

Had a city parade with my trumpet player

Dealing with this rascal

We had this announcement made to our family, that this year would not be over the top. Quite frankly they didn't deserve it and I was not afraid to tell them. So we kept it simple and less then normal under the tree and we received the response not expected, which was wow that was great - no one complained of I didn't get enough. Wow, did the warning make a difference or are my kids getting older and get that its not the quantity but rather the quality and the thought behind the idea,,,hahaha I know wishful thinking....

We had a beautiful Christmas. We had people over and didn't over do things. I think maybe because we had only people that matter to us, no one we were trying to impress. It made for a nice night.

The only damper on my winter break is that I got sick, blah!!! I never get sick you know beyond the usually headache, sniffles or allergy attack. Well, I got a small cough right before Christmas and then the day after Christmas it came back with a vengeance. Its not a wet cough, kind of a tickle in the throat cough that leads to a coughing frenzy! It sucks, a few days I was completely out of it. Over tired and lethargic and just zoned out. As I write this, the cough is less but seems to act up at night which sucks and doesn't let me sleep...but I have energy and I don't feel physically sick - Thank God for small favors. I am just waiting anxiously for it to be GONE forever.

I do have a some crafty goodies to share...like this

Have you seen these on Pinterest?

These are the items you need: simple!

Lay the stickers down

then stipple your ceramic pens all around the letters

Use multiple colors.

then remove stickers, clean up any bleed thru and add more dots as needed.

then add something cute on the other side to finish it off. Follow the manufacturers directions for baking it ON. Cute idea, right?

I am planning on making more of these for my family.

I sure hope you had a wonderful holiday and I am sending wishes your way for a healthy and prosperous New Year! I'm linking this up to the parties above.
