Getting Scrappy

With my layouts that is!  I had a friend over recently and she asked me about my scrap booking habits and whether I was up to Date? I mean is anyone ever? But it got me thinking that I needed to try and catch up or at least get some layouts done while my memory of the day was fresh in my head.

So here is my most recent layouts

I made 2  seperate layouts using photos from the same outing...which was a trip to Solano Beach in San Diego county. The above layout was talking about our Summer starting

This layout was more about me as their mom with journaling about the trip...I like how I can decide how to use my photos...the beauty of scrap booking is there are NO rules!

Happy crafting!!!

Promised more

and here it is:

The last of the projects I created using the SIMPLE STORIES Say Cheese paper kit ---

12 x 12 scrapbooking layout - that is ready for you to add your photos to.

All the embellishments came in the kit - can you stand the cuteness

It screams Disney but not to childish...

could use your grown up pics that were taken at Disneyland...

Here is the other side of the above layout

Aren't the colors cool -

Love the Kraft, light blue, red and gold all mixed together.

The pops of black are perfect in the mix - Loving the look of these pages.

O.k. so I have a few more items form this pack to share so stay tuned and also if you are interested in this double sided 12 x 12 scrapbook layout then please head over to my etsy shop and pick it up.

Have beautiful night sleep.

Say Cheese

Ordered this kit months ago and I guess due to its popularity took forever to arrive but man once I got it - I went to town!

I made 2 back to back double sided layouts, 4 cards, 1 mini 4 x 4 paper bag album and 1 project life like chipboard album!

And I have lots left over! I'll be sharing the rest of the items I made over the next few days! The first thing I want to share is this card - that I think would be fun to give to someone who is being surprised with a Disneyland or Disney world trip!!! It's super cute and totally obvious. - what do you think?

I am linking this up to the following challenges:

creative moments - anything - monochromatic

decorate to celebrate - anything goes with 3-d

inspiration destination - anything goes

word art Wednesday - anything goes - family friendly

Happy crafting

crafty weekend

I love when I can craft uninterrupted - you know and really get stuff done. Well, I guess I should clarify...I have a houseful of kids and a husband to care for - so I don't mean completely uninterrupted but when my brain is uninterrupted I can work so freely and really crank out my stuff. Sometimes I get those bursts of crafty mojo - where everything I pull out paper, stickers, flowers all seem to come together so nicely take for instance these scrapbook pages

I used a new paper pack from American Crafts and had some fun embellishments from a basic grey paper kit on the table and all of sudden these 2 pages were made -

aren't they the cutest?

ok so then I had some miscellaneous chipboard stickers left and decided to make some cards and just like that - with a whistle in my step I made 5 cards...

here's the first of the 5:

no stamping, just a little ink for the edges, a lone flower + basic grey chipboard HELLO sticker and in another blink of my eye a sweet card.

I just love creative spurts like this - wait till you see the other cards...cuteness x 100%

hope you have a crafty week and get tons of stuff done...

I will be linking this up to the following parties:

CAS on Sunday - CAS + cheer up buttercup
scribble & scrap crafts - anything goes
stamping sensations - flower power

happy crafting
come back tomorrow and see the other cards I created during my "Crafty Mojo" weekend.

Getting scrappy with Tim Holtz

Trying to stay on track this year and keeping up to date on my scrapbooking. I was able to make a few pages to add to my Etsy store and then I got one done of a very important day for me.

So most people don't get my excitement but in the paper crafting field there are some super stars and well Tim Holtz and Mario are 2 of them. So I have been a fan of theirs and keep up with Tim's blog and Mario on Facebook - weird? I think more true FAN :-) Anyway, awhile back I won a giveaway Tim did and was over joyed to connect with Mario to get my prize and was in awe back then.

So if anyone who loves Tim and his products knows that he travels a lot and teaches all over and I have never been lucky enough to participate in those cool classes. So every year Tim goes to the Carson Stamp Show and everyone who follows him knows this (don't think I am a crazy stalker - wink) anyway its about an hour from my house to the Carson Show and after convincing talking my hubby into driving me down there we made it and I stood in back and watched "him" Tim that is...and he knew his stuff...I mean I expected no less but it was pretty cool...then I bought some stuff because well Mario was manning the register and sheeplishly asked for a photo - I actually think I mumbled something in pure excitement and he honored me with a photo.

Here is the scrapbook page I created of the "Best Day Ever"

Boy I was so star struck!!!

Here are some photos that I took but didn't make into my page...

He was the master at everything Tim! uh duh!!!!

That lady in the bun was in that front row spot for a good 2 hours...wouldn't budge

I mean really - that's me beaming with him in the background...its as close as I could get to him...
No really I am just a huge fan not a STALKER!!! promise...

Ok - so in honor of kicking the year of scrapbooking off to a good start here are the pages I just listed in my ETSY shop...

for the sweet pup in your life!

Christmas page

Love the colors for this page - also another Holiday page

Happy scrapbooking & star gazing

New scrapbook layout

I love finishing up scrapbook layouts. I feel really accomplished when I get one done.

I wanted to share my newest layouts - I made 2 layouts of my true loves  1) being my hubby & 2) being my puppy

I love the one of us - it's so happy - I used Simple Stories papers & embellishments! Aren't they so colorful & happy😊

And here is the second layout

Aww now this is just to darn cute!!! Just used some basic paper & very few embellishments because I wanted my DOG Joe's photos to be the center of attention.

I Sure hope you have time to scrapbook. It sure is a sweet hobby that leaves lasting impressions -

Have a crafty weekend🎀

Project LIFE

I know everyone is familiar with PROJECT LIFE and while last year I completed my 2012 PL album - it was stressful and time consuming and I think the label of PL came with a BAR that I needed to reach every time I shared my PL layouts. So I decided  to bring the bar down so to speak!

This year I decided not to do week by week but rather a month at a time. I get my photos printed via the GROOVEBOOK - I only have to pay 2.99 a month and get 100 pictures off my iPhone printed in a perforated style book and the dates and location are printed on the top of the photo - check it out its a pretty cool thing and makes remembering the date easier. I have my books out and I label the front with the months so I can pick and choose the photos and place them in my album as I am working on a layout.

With all that said here are my JUNE layouts...
I added a few extras - lots of letter stickers of the names of places we went to...

some border stickers and some labels

I have been using the products by SNAP - which are available at Michael's and Joann's
are reasonably priced and have the cutest sayings and graphics

all the yellow cards are from SNAP...cute right!

they add a lot with out much work on my part (like that)

Added some minimal accents like stickers but other than the pictures are doing all the work

I gotta tell you that I am so much at ease with this NEW way of doing PL - it is so much less stressful and I am getting the highlights of the month done and it happens in all one night of scrapbooking - LOVE IT!!!!

I am linking this up to the parties listed in my tab above.

Happy Project Life-ing no matter how you make it work for you!

Project Life Link Up

Hello and welcome back...or hello and welcome!!! If you are at all in any kind of blogging forum then you have heard about PROJECT LIFE, right? There use to be a few blogs that offered a link up where you could share your weekly project life pages but those have since disappeared. Perhaps, people were feeling to pressured to perform, or maybe people felt pressure to make their pages look like the "POPULAR KIDS" pages...but lets be real...who has the time, the designer products and the energy to participate in such a competition. Well, Ladies...I am right there with you but I totally LOVE the idea of Project Life and well I decided to forget the concept of the "YEAR" project life.

After all, it's all about interpretation. YOUR interpretation! Follow me here o.k. - A few months ago on HSN they were offering a sale on PROJECT LIFE kits with a automatic refill (every three months) a smaller album with a box of the tags and journal pieces - my first one came and was created by Dear LIZZY - so its the sweetest design and the cutest phrases with a bright pink album

Here it is - cute right? So back to ditching the LARGE year long (week by week) idea of project life...I decided to work on this album and make it for my recent 2 week SUMMER ROAD TRIP ... see more precise - less stress and very do-able!

the front cover comes with this sweet pocket -
perfect for my title

Here is my first page and I did use a few of the DEAR LIZZY journal tags and added some of my own stickers...4 pockets for pictures - easy and much more do-able...

2nd page - the balloon tag is from dear lizzy and the other tags are from OH SNAP which are sold at Michael's and are on CLEARANCE right now!!!

more pictures and extra stickers and my own writing

Some pages I just added some stickers and let photos do all the work. Really there are no rules and afterall a scrapbook is usually focused on the photos...

Here I added a full tag of handwritten comments of our trip - wish maybe I had typed it out but of course - I'm not gonna stress about it. Its done and I am one step closer to finishing...that's goal right peeps?

By the way, I hooked up with the company called GROOVE BOOK - for just 2.99 (shipping included) you can  upload up to 100 photos from your phone and they send it to you in a flip type book and the photos come perforated...for easy removal and use in your album -- those are the photos used on the above page.
You can get a free groove book album no charge just use code CURTIS15 and try it out FREE

Here is the last page I did in this start of my new resolution to keep it simple and work smaller...NO STRESS!!! Not bad for my first leg. I will continue to update my album and share the pages with you all. Hopefully I inspire you to stay on track and go easy go slow and have fun with project life.

I am also hoping this can be a place to share your layouts so I am adding a linky up for all you to post your finished PROJECT LIFE PAGES...
lets do this together!

Scrapbook catch up

I always take breaks from scrapbooking and then catch up in spurts. It never fails when I get started with my scrapbooking marathon - I am always reminded why I love it so much. I love to look back at photos of my kids and outings we have taken and document them for later viewing. I love it!

I wanted to share a few of the pages I got done recently (in one day actually :)

I have stacks of photos laying around that I KNEW I wanted to get made and put into my scrapbook

I am not starting from recent days - these are just photos that I LOVE

Scrapbooking has come a LONG way over the years. I love that there is NO
right way. Its what ever you like - and now-a-days not everything HAS to coordinate!
how fantastic is that?

Because I was playing with PROJECT LIFE last year I printed a bunch of photos in a 3 x 5 style
hence the reason I have these pages all using "smaller" photos

I love SCRAPBOOKING EMBELLISHMENTS!!! I hoard
collect all kinds of bits and pieces and even make my own with scraps of paper. You can add them everywhere - from scrapbooking layouts to cards....and they add that special finishing touch!

another small collection I have is ALPHABET STICKERS- I have a bunch in lots of colors--again another staple - that can be used on so many different paper crafting projects.

I LOVE LOVE scrapbooking and think that whether you are doing project life or traditional scrapbooking or even digital scrapbooking - just do it - keep track - take the time to DOCUMENT your memories. I promise it may seem like work - may even seem like a waste of time - but your kids big or small will appreciate all the effort and will have fond memories seeing themselves on the pages and witnessing their growth and reliving those happy memories.

THAT'S A PROMISE
