Spring stand-up sign---tutorial

Hi there

I have been scrapbooking for 20+ yeas and if you recall the options for paper and stickers were pretty sad back then. When I found something I loved I bought a bunch of sheets and used it for everything. I would hand cut flowers and sometimes letters out of my special papers (this was before sizzix and cricut)

Todays project reminds me of some good Old school paper crafting

These paper flowers and brads came in a kit from Doodlebug Designs, aren't their paper kits the most amazing colors and graphics out there.

Here are the big BASIC flowers that were included in the kit.

I cut a 6 x 6 piece of chipboard and another piece for the stand up piece for the back (see old school papercrafting) and added the 1 sheet of paper that came in the flower kit

Then I stacked the piece of the flowers and added some pop dots for some additional dimension to the flowers (see below)

This was my first attempt at making a tag for the front of the spring sign

Terrible I know

Here's the finished tag on the front of the sign.
100% better-don't you agree?

Here is the finished sign - isn't it the cutest thing ever.
See my last post for the tutorial on how to make those No-Sew Spring Gnomes

Here' wishing Spring weather comes around sooner then later.

Crafty Girl Ideas #2

Here is another episode of

CRAFTY GIRL IDEAS

If you know me and this here ol blog then you know I am an avid paper crafter more specifically a scrapbooker and with that skill - there are always left over paper scraps and embellishments from used kits.

I usually make mini paper bag album kits to sell - so that you can make something at home in your own style - well I also like to make tags and add them to packages when I ship out purchases.
I made a quick video to show you what and how easy they are to make

enjoy

We are in full summer mode here at Casa Curtis - all the kids are off and we are slowly filling are summer calendar up with fun things to do.

Happy Hump Day!!!

sweet new album

Check out this sweet album that I just finished up using new papers and embellishments by Dear Lizzy the Fine and Dandy collection. I gotta tell you that I fell in LOVE with these papers as soon as I saw them. They are happy and scattered and the embellishments are super fun too.

I mean how cute is the cover?

Inside pages

These pages are just too fun and sweet and - well - I can't stand it.

Remember a few posts back when I said that I always by the the whole kit of a paper line that I like when I find it. First of all, it costs less when you buy the whole kit and second of all you get so much stuff you can create lots of stuff with the kit and still have more left over. With that said, here is another album I made yesterday that uses the same papers and embellishments.

Isn't she cute? The papers were from the same paper pad. and i used some stickers from some other american crafts line but dont they work so well together and I still have lots more paper left over!!!

Both of these items are listed in my ebay shop just visit me at onecraftymess.com for the link to my store!

Have a great weekend.

Banner Time

Ha ha - do you get the pun...if not try singing it...Banner time (sounds like Hammer Time by M.C. Hammer??) o.k. never mind. anyway, tis the season to start creating some lovely banners for well, Mother's Day and Memorial Day, 4th of July and hey maybe even for Dad's day...but first I want to start with MOM - because she is the most important in the world, right? {wink wink}

I bought some small chipboard banner shaped triangles awhile back and had covered them with some fun papers also awhile ago and just pulled them out yesterday and just added these fun letters using my new SLICE machine by Making Memories...Will share that new baby later in the week.

But here's my finished banner - I'm liking it. Whatch'a think?

Aren't the colors different and fun.

I think its o.k. to use patterned paper as long as you use solid colored letters to offset the background colors.

See how pretty they look up close!

New scrapbook layout

I love finishing up scrapbook layouts. I feel really accomplished when I get one done.

I wanted to share my newest layouts - I made 2 layouts of my true loves  1) being my hubby & 2) being my puppy

I love the one of us - it's so happy - I used Simple Stories papers & embellishments! Aren't they so colorful & happy😊

And here is the second layout

Aww now this is just to darn cute!!! Just used some basic paper & very few embellishments because I wanted my DOG Joe's photos to be the center of attention.

I Sure hope you have time to scrapbook. It sure is a sweet hobby that leaves lasting impressions -

Have a crafty weekend🎀

Luck of the Irish - day 45

Remember I mentioned that I was playing with my cricut? I wanted to share with you what I have been making.

Pretty cool right?
I just got the new pennant banner cartridge and I LOVE all the variations you can make with it.

sorry for the dirty fireplace - but we do use it!!!

I used my other cartridges to make the letters. I had bought the small shamrocks from one of my favorite stores and added some white pen marks around the edges of the shamrocks and some black pen marks around the white letters.

All in all, not a bad looking banner if I do say so myself.

Just in time for St. Patrick's Day and I am working on some more décor too.
Will share that with you soon.
Linking this up to the parties above.

Also, if you want this banner or one like it - you can pick it up in my etsy shop...

Card making

Been feeling stifled in the crafting department. I decided to finally make time and get my hands dirty or should I sit down and play!!!

First thing I made were some cards - I don't have many of those around these days...
I made 2 birthday cards - one for a girl and one for a boy

This PINK girly birthday card is kind of artsy so I think it could work for either a big girl or a little girl

What do you think? cute but artsy - so it could go both ways!

And because I have a little boy here too - I had to include one for the boys I used the same sentiment just a sweet robot to finish this one off.

Not bad for a dip back into the crafting POOL.

I have lots more to share this week - so please come back soon

I am linking these cards up to the following challenges this week:

aud sentiments - birthday sentiments
crafty ribbons challenge - anything goes w/ribbon
in the pink - ribbons & pink
