Spring stand-up sign---tutorial

Hi there

I have been scrapbooking for 20+ yeas and if you recall the options for paper and stickers were pretty sad back then. When I found something I loved I bought a bunch of sheets and used it for everything. I would hand cut flowers and sometimes letters out of my special papers (this was before sizzix and cricut)

Todays project reminds me of some good Old school paper crafting

These paper flowers and brads came in a kit from Doodlebug Designs, aren't their paper kits the most amazing colors and graphics out there.

Here are the big BASIC flowers that were included in the kit.

I cut a 6 x 6 piece of chipboard and another piece for the stand up piece for the back (see old school papercrafting) and added the 1 sheet of paper that came in the flower kit

Then I stacked the piece of the flowers and added some pop dots for some additional dimension to the flowers (see below)

This was my first attempt at making a tag for the front of the spring sign

Terrible I know

Here's the finished tag on the front of the sign.
100% better-don't you agree?

Here is the finished sign - isn't it the cutest thing ever.
See my last post for the tutorial on how to make those No-Sew Spring Gnomes

Here' wishing Spring weather comes around sooner then later.

Fuzzy goodness-craft project

Cute is always a great idea and sometimes Cute can be a fun accessory.

Today I wanted to share this fun planner clip idea that I had originally planned to share around Valentines Day.

By the way - all the items I used for this project are from the 99 cent store.

I used my handy glue gun to add the eyes to the Pom poms

Be careful because the gun gets hot and you literally are working with a small work surface but I think it’s faster then using a white glue. Tweezers would help for sure, I’m just not coordinated.

So cute

Then to add a little something extra (if you were using them for Valentines a Day) you could add some fun words with your type writer - which is reminiscent of WARM FUZZIES - tots 1970’s craft

What an inexpensive craft project and how cute are they in your planner - great accessory right?

Here’s to getting your craft on today.

2 scrapbooks 1 paper kit

Hey there it’s February and I have been busy making lots of good stuff and I wanted to share how I made to different abumsnusing one paper kit by doodle big designs...

These are the 2 albums I made using one paper kit-the colors are similar but the shapes are different and the themes
are different

This is the small GARDEN TIME 5 x 5 square chipboard album

Different stickers that go with the garden theme

Simple but super cute

Paper flowers in matching colors

Totally fun album and the second one is made with a big and animal theme - made with kids playing in the back yard in mind

Again same color scheme but I used a leaf shaped MDF scrapbook (that I bought at a thrift store)

Left room for photos

Isn’t this the cutest thing ever.

Can’t you see your kids photos with muddy hands in here

I wanted to show you that you can make more then one type of album using one paper kit and believe it or not I have left over paper so I could make some cards or embellishments - I plan on using it all up and make more!!!

Thanks for stopping by folks

These will be listed in the shop today!

UNICORN ORNAMENT TUTORIAL

Welcome - today I wanted to share an easy tutorial for making the cutest unicorn ornaments out there...

Cute, right?

This is a step by step photo tutorial with all the details and supplies needed - let’s get started

Paint paper mache ball any color you like

Trace and cut out the ears and horn out of the papers as seen in the photos

Once you cut out the pieces the wars should set into each other - glue them down to one another then make a small 1/2 inch or smaller crease as shown in #2 then cut a small slit in the bottom fold as shown in #3 then glue with the glue gun as shown in #4

Then glue your cone together - notice the small hole at the top - you’ll need that to pull the gold hanger thread thru

Once your done with the come add the eyelashes - these very basic but super easy - I used sharpie and as shown in the last photo I made them In different sizes and it all looks cute.

Add the horn with hot glue - let it dry - Next step is to pull the hanger thru - I used a large eye needle and put the string thru and thread the needle thru the horn and wa-la - easy!

Next cut small pieces of tule and place them between the horn and the ears with hot glue

Almost done - now add the flowers - I went with one big one in the middle and smaller ones around the front - this covers up all the glue spots left after adding the horn and the ears - my flowers had small holes in the center and you can add puffy paint to the center or some small bling

I wanted you to see the two different unicorns I made in the same colors and using the same basic materials - changed  the papers and the eyes but cute none the less.

Thanks for stopping by - hope you like the tutorial - let me know if you make one so I can come by and check it out!

Letter Board crafts

I posted the cutest mini letter board crafts on my Instagram feed and I wanted to share how I made them
Look how cute
I had the embroidery hoops already and in case you don’t you can buy them online or pick them up at craft stores - I even find them at the thrift stores...

Below are the supplies you’ll need

I found all the “corduroy” felt in all the colors at my Joanne’s fabric and Crafts - I purchased some in black online from Michaels - amazon didn’t have it and neither did oriental trading company...the letters I had from an actual letter board I bought off amazon but you could buy letters at both of the craft stores mentioned before.

I squeezed the felt in between the hoops and tightened it.
Then measure out your words or phrases then gently cut thru the felt where the back piece will lay in place.

This is what the back will look like..I added a little bit of fabric glue (I wouldn’t use hot glue because unless you can add it precisely the chance of you getting it all over the felt is HUGE)

Then continue on and finish off your words
I added ribbon to the tops and placed them sweetly on my living room mantle

Here it is finished and looking fly

Hope you try it!!!

Happy Sunday
Happy Crafting
