Funny story

WARNING: this is a small rant about life with kids

I know there are alot of people out there that have kids some only one, some 2 or 3 and some even a full house. Props to all of you brave parents who home school their kids - that means 24 hours a day everyday. Go on with your bad self.

As you all know Tuesday was Valentines day so me and my hubbs had plans to go to dinner and a movie and exchange gifts during the day....But...here is the funny part...Sunday my daughter who is on the Varsity soccer team for her high school tells us that they made the wild card draw for CIF and the game would be on Tuesday (VALENTINES DAY) at 5:00 pm Gosh darn it! Really....

Let me preface this by saying that my daughter who excels as a soccer forward and can kick with her left foot = lots of goals. Last year on JV she was one of the high goal makers on the team and this year she has literally played 10 minutes the whole season (in total) - so figure 2-3 minutes every third game or so if that. As parents go, we are pretty first rate - I think anyway. Me and my husband have made every game together, sometimes seperate but we want to be there in case she gets playing time. in total around 20 games including pre-season...I was praying their team wouldnt make CIF so the season would be over. So there go Valentines Day plans - but after being married for 17 years we figured we would go on Monday and avoid the the crowds and wait times - here we are celebrating Valentines Day at Tahoe Joes eating a huge dinner and laughing and talking about how those kids of ours seem to interfere in our life (jokingly of course but true) I mean we are parents and that's part of the life right?

Huge dinner and drinks and some shopping after that...

Also Monday I received these yummy berries and they were super tasty. there were a dozen strawberries - I ate 3 and guess who ate the rest...My Kids. Gotta Love them.

Here's hoping your Valentines Day went as planned.

In case your wondering I have been very busily crafting away and will be sharing all the fun stuff shortly.

Have a great weekend ya'll.

Love is the air

I just finshed the cutest little album made out of chipboard hearts. Used some fun papers and embellishments and well take a look for yourself

Here is the cover  - something about red just makes me happy!!!

That blue, red & pink is just too cute together

The picture will be the main focus

Just the perfect embellishments

Love it

Aren't those colors the end?

This would be great holding your kids photos or that of your sweet honey pie... It all works in here!!

Have fun today wether your watching the SuperBowl or spending your day crafting!!! I'll be doing both!

Floor Cloth

When was the last time you painted? If you are, like me - you are probably always changing things up and paint is the easiest way to change things up. A year ago, I bought some floor cloth from Lowes and I just picked a pack - there were different sizes and I assumed I would use them on the floor when I painted anything - but when I took this stuff out of the package it was like the most amazing fabric ever...had a heavy weight and a cool burlapy color to it...instant LOvE! I bought more and made table cloths for my tables that I use at craft shows and had extra so I made curtains for my kitchen

Sorry for the terrible shot...then recently I made some pillows - yup! I made a pocket pillow out of the fabric

Neat right? So I am a SUCkER for wreaths...my husband hates it but I think my front doors need a little something. I seem to make them out of so many different types of items, yarn, mesh and well why not floor cloth?

I had a large piece and just cut slits down the length and just tore it all the way down...and tied them around - wait for it- an embroidery hoop the 12 inch kind...genius right? Heehee... And this is what I came out with

There it is - next to the pillow so you can see that I actually used the same stuff...not that you doubted me but isn't this stuff amazing?

I also used a couple of 1.00 target dollar spot items I bought a few weeks ago to add to the finished product...and here is the final set of wreaths already placed on my front door.

Here is the full view...

So run don't walk to Lowes to grab yourself this amazing fabric at the most reasonable price ever and this stuff is so flexible you could dye it, make ruffles and frame a table cloth from it or use it as an actual painting drop cloth and see what beautiful designs you create after some paint falls onto it - imagine the possibilities!

What Valentine's Day projects are you getting done?

Happy crafting
