Hey Cupcake - day 15

Oh my another handmade card that could work for a friends birthday card or for your sweet LOVE...I am kind of embarrassed to admit this but I love making cards and always manage to put them aside somewhere after I make and blog them BUT almost NEVER give my handmade cards to family or friends {wah wah wah}...let alone give cards as a general practice. Sad story but its something I want to work this year.

I want to make the effort to show the people in my life that they are special to me. On a regular basis.

Here is my card

 

Love the colors = really make the card look FUN! I just had a thought---you could write on the little banners off on the left, write some things that are special about the person you are giving this to.

So back to my rant about making people feel special - I know people are all over the web shouting and sharing their WORD for the year...I had previously decided NOT to play along but I think I have changed my mind...I think my word is going to be: PURPOSEFUL {HUH?} I think that's a word? But it's my word, regardless.

To me it means doing things with purpose...with meaning...especially when its someone I love. Giving it my all, exercising all the energy I can give to that person when they need me in that moment...You may think I am usually a real heel to my friends but I'm not, promise. I do however, kind of stay clear of getting "Involved" in others peoples issue...I try not to care. But I do and I think it's time I start showing it. At least that's the plan.

 

what a mouthful...guess I had some time to think today {wink wink}

Living

It's our first official summer day with ALL the kids home --- to keep the peace i decided to take the kids to knotts soak city. We have passes so its pretty much a free day. As i sit here in the sun watching my son go down the little kiddie slides and take in all that's around me I can't help say to myself "is it really all about the kids?" 

All the parents of the toddlers are sitting in the water while the kids play and splash around. Just watching not playing, chasing after even. II have a lot to be proud of.  My kids are confident and fearless and happy and I created that. 

So back to my original question? Yes, my life NOW is for my kids. I played and had fun when I was little - it's their turn to be little - have fun and make memorable adventures. I get the pleasure of helping to create those valuable & life long memories!!! 

I get to watch them have fun and TODAY I'm ok with that and enjoying them.
