Crafting on a budget

It’s Friday - I thought I’d share some low cost crafting ideas. This will serve as a crafting on a budget idea as well as some simple holiday home decor ideas.

For this Valentine’s Day project all you need is paper and a paper punch. Notice how I used a circle punch (it was closest to me) but of course you could use a heart punch or even a star punch. If you only have small punches, those will work too. Just make more punch Outs and have the garland extend longer. Easy fix.

Grab your supplies - I prefer double sided paper that way you dont have to worry about how your garland is laying and won’t see a white back unless of course that’s part of your color scheme.

Punch the circles

Again using what you have - if you only have one sided paper just glue 2 pieces together

Sew the circles together in a long chain.

Cute right?

See how cute and “sew” simple. You could do this for every holiday and save for another holiday or party. Or if you used your scraps - you can toss it when your done with it.

I love it.

Here’s to crafting on a budget.

have a beautiful weekend friends.!

Rainbows & sunshine

Another example of how I use the HECK out of one paper kit. This is my 3rd album - you can visit my Instagram account (@onecraftymess) to see the other albums I created using the same paper kit...

This is the cover I made using chipboard and o-wires to bind it...

Inside pages are super happy

And cheerful

Great 6 x 6 size too

I live how these all came out and best part is there still so many pieces left over.

I am working on making some cards with the left over pieces.

I'll share them when I am done with those.

I mean doesn't this album just scream HAPPY to you?

Ok so until next time. Happy crafting

String art

To be truthful - I thought this was going to be a no brainer. Something I could do while watching t.v. Boy was I wrong. The premise is simple the idea looks easy but when you are working on such a small space with nails so close together keeping the strings close to the base of the nails is necessary to keep the alignment looking right all the way around the piece. Well, I tried it twice and it can be even better so I will go again for my 3rd try...here are my first attempts - skull head ( the nose is a bit wonky)

Then I tried a ghost - a bit better but still need to capture the face a bit better

I think I need a larger working area---or a bigger face 😃

Here they are right next to each other. I like them but I need to try it again. To get the face
Poking just right. Hope you give this a try and good luck with your Halloween decorating! I am linking this up to the parties above.

Have a crafty week!

Pom Pom Session 3

O.k. so a few days ago I shared my newest ideas for using pom poms...I think I may have a slight obsession with them. (ya think) anyway - this one happened upon me actually. I found a box of stuff I had made last Spring for a craft show - (stuff unsold) sadly. But some cute stuff frankly and I found these cuties...

I mean really - do they come any cuter?
Just 2 mini pom poms glued to each other and some fun little felt accents and 2 black glass beads for eyes...

each one nicely perched in their own nest inside a peet pot...totally says spring right? and the best part is that they have pin backs so these babies can be worn on your lapel or vest {squeal} can you stand it!

Ok. well add that to the pom pom list!!!

happy Easter ya'll
xx

National Craft Month {share time}

I think it is totally cool that there is such a thing as National Craft Month - because in "MY" world every month is craft month (wink & a smile)I just wanted to take a minute and share some of the fun things I made this MONTH...

my scrapbooks
this one is extra mini 4 x 4 and I used the ever fun papers by basic grey FACT & FICTION of which can be found at Joanne's fabrics (I know - how cool is that)

super hip - dont'cha think?

making some cool magnet boards for my craft booth set up

painting - lots of painting

and painting furniture (or not)

So yeah CRAFT MONTH is every month for me at CASA Curtis---

anyway, just a quick share.
