Hey Cupcake - day 15

Oh my another handmade card that could work for a friends birthday card or for your sweet LOVE...I am kind of embarrassed to admit this but I love making cards and always manage to put them aside somewhere after I make and blog them BUT almost NEVER give my handmade cards to family or friends {wah wah wah}...let alone give cards as a general practice. Sad story but its something I want to work this year.

I want to make the effort to show the people in my life that they are special to me. On a regular basis.

Here is my card

Love the colors = really make the card look FUN! I just had a thought---you could write on the little banners off on the left, write some things that are special about the person you are giving this to.
!genius!

So back to my rant about making people feel special - I know people are all over the web shouting and sharing their WORD for the year...I had previously decided NOT to play along but I think I have changed my mind...I think my word is going to be: PURPOSEFUL {HUH?} I think that's a word? But it's my word, regardless.
To me it means doing things with purpose...with meaning...especially when its someone I love. Giving it my all, exercising all the energy I can give to that person when they need me in that moment...You may think I am usually a real heel to my friends but I'm not, promise. I do however, kind of stay clear of getting "Involved" in others peoples issue...I try not to care. But I do and I think it's time I start showing it. At least that's the plan.

what a mouthful...guess I had some time to think today {wink wink}

Happy Crafting
p.s. I am linking this card up to some weekly challenges

I love the idea of writing things that are special about the person on the fishtail banners! It is genius! I also wanted to address your comments about not using your cards... I have 2 suggestions if you don't mind? 1. I keep a Birthday calendar & send Birthday cards to all my relatives, friends, co-workers,etc.
2. I like to do RAKs to neighbors & acquaintances, but the main ones go to the Wounded Warrior Program and other military programs such as sending blank cards to units in Afghanistan for the soldiers to use to send home. I bring it up because if you have built up a stockpile of unused cards - they would love them! Sorry - long comment! Love the card you made, so bright and cheery! Thanks for sharing your project in the “Any Sentiment” Challenge!

A lovely cheerful card! I'm so sorry that it won't qualify for our challenge at In The Pink as it doesn't have more pink than any other colour :-(
Also, we ask that you provide a link to the challenge in your blog post, as do most challenges.
I do hope you will enter again with a pink card :-)
Hugs, Kat x

That's a good word for the year. I noticed the trend, too and one of my online classes required it at the start, so I'll have to blog about mine soon, too.
Purposeful makes sense - you do things with intention! Like when you make cards, you must have people in mind when you make them, that's why they come out so nice.
